BERLIN: Chinese vendor ZTE recorded operating revenue of 47.76 billion yuan ($7.17 billion) in the first half of 2016, climbing 4.05% over the same period the previous year.
ZTE reported a domestic operating revenue of 27.8 billion yuan, accounting for more than 58% of overall operating revenue. International operating revenue totaled 19.95 billion yuan in the first half of the year. Net profit for the period rose to 1.77 billion yuan, the company said.
The vendor said that operating revenue for the firm’s carrier networks business in the first half of 2016 was 28.74 billion yuan, while operating revenue for government and enterprise business amounted to 4.61 billion yuan. Meanwhile, the consumer business recorded operating revenue of 14.42 billion yuan in the first six months of the year. In 1H 2016, the Chinese company invested approximately 15% of total revenue in research and development.
“In the mobile network operator market, ZTE has continued to develop innovative new solutions and increase its market share. The company ranks 1st in 4G global shipments and has successfully increased its market share in both wireless and wired markets,” ZTE said in a statement.
The company also said it has begun deploying its pre-“5G” solutions in phases in Austria, China, Germany, Japan, Singapore and Korea. “The company has also made major advancements in Telecom Cloud, Big Video, RCS, CDN, SDN/NFV in emerging markets.”
