NEW DELHI: The Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi celebrated its 5th anniversary on Tuesday. On this auspicious day Xiaomi not only announced new devices but it also has slashed the prices of its existing devices Xiaomi Mi4 and Xiaomi Mi 4 Lite in India and China.
The flagship smartphone from 2014, Mi 4 will now be available for Rs18,000 for the 16GB variant, as opposed to the earlier Rs.20,000.
A report in GizmoChina has also claimed that a ‘lite’ version of the Mi , which will come with 2GB RAM in place of 3GB RAM will also be retailing at a price of CNY 1,699(roughly Rs.17,000). Both variants of the Mi 4 will be available beginning April 8. It is not yet known whether the 64GB variant of the smartphone will be getting a price cut as well. It is also not known when the reduced prices will begin applying to other nations.
To recap things, the Mi 4 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI 6 skin and is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. Other features include 3GB RAM, 5-inch Full-HD display, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera and a 3080 mAh battery.
