Ukraine imports 6.7 bcm of gas for $1.54 bln in six months

Ukraine imports 6.7 bcm of gas for $1.54 bln in six months

KIEV: Ukraine in January-June this year imported 6.654 billion cubic meters of natural gas for a total of $1.538 billion, according to the State Statistics Service.

The average price of gas imported by the country, according to the service, in June 2017 was $216.6 per 1,000 cubic meters against $212.6 in May, $209.6 in April, $234.7 in March, $252.5 in February, and $244.6 in January.

Ukraine in January-June 2017 received 2.699 billion cubic meters of gas for $630.773 million from counterparties in Switzerland, 2.101 billion cubic meters for $483.325 million from Germany, 644.929 million cubic meters worth $154.037 million from France, 621.828 million cubic meters for $136.117 million from Poland, 268.027 million cubic meters for $63.425 million from the United Kingdom, 157.96 million cubic meters for $34.1 million from Hungary, 88.791 million cubic meters worth $19.174 million from Luxembourg, 29.516 million cubic meters for $7.08 million from Slovakia, 26.128 million cubic meters for $6.186 million from Austria, 10.158 million cubic meters for $2.208 million from Italy, and 7.755 million cubic meters for $1.886 million from the Czech Republic.

Ukraine did not import natural gas from counterparts in the Russian Federation in 2017.
