KIEV: In August 2016 Ukraine exported 2851.2 KMT of wheat, which was 50% more than in August 2015 (1892.8 KMT). Over the first two months of the current season Ukrainian exporters shipped 34% more wheat than over the same period of last season (3575.5 KMT against 2662.4 KMT in July-August 2015/16), reports UkrAgroConsult.
Again, Thailand becomes the key importer of Ukrainian wheat with purchases of 560 KMT. Also South Korea is among the leaders, buying in August almost 50% of the total volume imported in 2015/16 (426 KMT against 1013 KMT in 2015/16). As we wrote previously, this season India began to import Ukrainian wheat. In August 193 KMT were shipped in this destination. Egypt remains among the key export markets as well, though export volumes over the reporting period lowered to 17% compared to July-August 2015/16 and equaled 327 KMT.
