WASHINGTON: U.S. stocks fell for a second day on Wednesday as lingering geopolitical worries weighed on investors’ sentiment. Questions over the U.S. government’s strategy in Syria and how President Donald Trump plans to neutralize North Korea’s nuclear ambitions are rattling investors.
The S&P 500 SPX, -0.38% dropped 8 points, or 0.4%, to close at 2,344 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.29% shed 61 points, or 0.3%, to end at 20,590. The Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -0.52% fell 30 points, or 0.5%, to close at 5,836.
