WASHINGTON: Nearly half a million dollars worth of cocaine is found during a customs check in a passenger’s wheelchair cushion. Customs and Border Protection says the woman traveled from Saint Lucia to New York City on Tuesday. Upon arriving at JKF Airport, the passenger appeared nervous with her baggage.
U.S. Customs noted the passenger’s wheelchair cushion looked “unusual,” and upon picking it up they noticed the weight of it. Inside was almost 30 pounds of cocaine, which is valued at around $470,000. The passenger was reportedly turned over to Homeland Security.
