Two held for smuggling 2kg heroin in India

FARIDKOT: Police have seized 2kg heroin worth Rs100 million from two persons at Wan Tara Singh village in Tarn Taran district.

Deputy Singh and Gursahib Singh were arrested near the border and two packets of heroin were seized from them, said Faridkot SSP Gurmeet Singh Randhawa.

A case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered against them. The SSP said during preliminary questioning it was learnt that the accused used to contact Pakistani smugglers using the Pak SIM card. The Pakistan smugglers allegedly used to throw the contraband over the border fencing and the duo would collect it.
