NEW YORK: Echofon, the makers of a popular Twitter app, this morning apologised to its users who were struggling to log on to their accounts.
The error seems to be affecting some, but not all, Android phone users.
People started reporting the Twitter time warp bug yesterday when they were locked out of their accounts or noticed that their tweets were being dated as 365 days old.
The problem was caused when a Twitter server decided it was December 2015, jumping ahead a year.
Some Twitter users are reporting they are fixing the continuing problem today by uninstalling their Twitter apps, rebooting their phone, reinstalling their app and then logging back in — although for those who can’t remember their Twitter log in that’s a bit of a problem.
Still, judging by the tweets of people complaining they can’t get on to Twitter, they must be finding a way.
If you’re still having problems getting onto Twitter because of the bug, let us know below.
And if you see a frustrated friend who can’t tweet, lend them a hand and tweet for them.
It would be terrible for someone desperate to say something trivial in 140 characters or less and not being able to do so.
