ANKARA: Turkish steel exports rose to an eleven-year high of 6.90 million tonnes in the first four months of the year, the Turkish Steel Exporters Assn (ÇIB) said on Tuesday May 9.
January-April steel exports were up 23.90% year-on-year, while the value of the exports was also up, by 42.80% year-on-year, to $4 billion. The country significantly increased its exports to East Asia Southeast Asia and Latin America over the period. Turkey increased its exports into East Asian and Southeast Asian countries by 540% year-on-year to 557,000 tonnes in the first four months of the year, while its exports into Latin America rose by 80% year-on-year to 538,000 tonnes.
