ANKARA: Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Technology and Textile & Leather sectors led shares higher. At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.28%. The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which rose 7.77% or 1.760 points to trade at 24.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Alarko Holding AS (IS:ALARK) added 5.28% or 0.360 points to end at 7.180 and Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) was up 4.45% or 4.60 points to 108.00 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which fell 3.58% or 0.240 points to trade at 6.470 at the close. Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) declined 3.16% or 0.030 points to end at 0.920 and Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) was down 2.21% or 0.100 points to 4.420. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 175 to 172 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alarko Holding AS (IS:ALARK) rose to all time highs; rising 5.28% or 0.360 to 7.180. Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 6.44 to $1302.94 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.68% or 0.85 to hit $51.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.72% or 0.97 to trade at $57.22 a barrel. USD/TRY was down 0.74% to 3.6298, while EUR/TRY fell 0.72% to 4.2974. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 92.85.
