TOKYO: In spite of fresh record of Wall Street, Tokyo stocks went down on Friday, as the yen continues its downward rally so investors remained focused on political developments as Japan geared up for election next month.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange eased 135.36 points to 17,165.50 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares declined 0.63 percent, or 8.84 points, to 1,388.80.
