PHUKET: The Phuket police have arrested two persons including one Iranian and one French for stealing money from safes of two Phuket resorts, Phuketwan has learned this afternoon.
Police are still counting the money in different types of currency.
The arrests at Baan Tonsai Gardens Resort in Patong follow a media conference earlier in the day on Phuket in which two Belarus men were accused of skimming one million baht using fake ATM card in Bangkok and another 100,000 baht in Phuket.
Mikalai Ramankou and Siarhei Bandarkou, both 35, were arrested after Siam Commercial Bank officials in Rawai reported them using ATMs in the district in unusual patterns.
Police found eight cards discarded in a toilet when the pair were arrested at Rawai beach Hotel about 5.30pm yesterday.
