KARACHI: The Customs Exports has issued show cause notices to two factories in order to collect the evaded tax amounts. The customs authorities issued notices to M/s Munib Traders Karachi and M/s Irfan and Sons Gharoo.

According to the details, M/s Munib Traders Karachi used wrong Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) headings to get a consignment of so many imported plastic items cleared during the end of July and caused a loss of Rs 4.1 million to the national exchequer.

During scrutiny of import data of July, the Customs Exports found that the above said company used wrong PCT heading and issued a show-cause notice no: 194/2017 to recover the money.

Meanwhile, the Customs Exports unearthed another tax evasion by M/s Irfan and Sons Gharoo in a consignment of paints and shirt cloth and imported white bukram. The customs authorities, after careful investigations, issued a show cause notice to the company and asked them to submit the evaded tax amount within fortnight.
