MULTAN: Central Tanzeem-e-Tajiran Pakistan held peaceful protest against fix tax regime for small shopkeeper here on Monday.
Central Chairman Tanzeem-e-Tajiran Khawaja Muhammad Suleman Siddiqui led the protest at Chowk Hussain Agahi along with other traders and addressed that we will not accept any further taxes on small shopkeepers in shape of fix tax regime. He said that government has inserted heavy taxes on all sectors of business community in budget 2019-20.
He said that government is imposing unjustified taxes on traders without any consultation and Tanzeem–e-Tajiran will not accept any fix taxes on small shopkeepers as they paid heavy indirect taxes and business situation is deteriorated.
Business activities of traders have been shrunk 50 percent due to current government economic policies. He criticised the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and said that the steps to improve country’s economy are actually creating difficulties for business community as well as public. The International Monetary Fund new driven polices in the country is damaging business environment.
He said these measures have enhanced the problems for traders and urged that government should reconsider them. He said that government has also bound all commercial importers to write sale price on imported products while the value addition tax would be collected on retail price. Business community is unhappy over taxes and government should revise decision to put taxes on small traders.
He demanded from government to withdraw all taxes to provide relief to business community otherwise they will launch shutter down protest in nationwide.
