KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday opened on positive note and added 101 points to reach 40340 level in early trading.
On Thursday, the stocks closed negative as the benchmark KSE-100 index lost 107 points to close at 40,239. The index opened higher and peaked at 40,755 points before beginning to lose points to touch the day’s low of 40,106 points mid-session.
In all, 143.2 million shares worth Rs4.98 billion were traded at the exchange. Of the 325 traded scrips,138 advanced, 153 declined and 34 remained unchanged. The power generation and distribution sector dominated trading with 31.1m shares traded with K-Electric as the highest traded scrip.
