FAISALABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Chaudhary Abid Sher Ali has said all possible steps are being taken to provide uninterrupted power supply to consumers during Sehar and Iftar in Ramzan.
Speaking at inauguration ceremony of expansion project of Transformer Reclamation Workshop of Faisalabad
Electric Supply Company (Fesco) here on Saturday, he said all grid stations and other installations were being upgraded on a war footing and billions of rupees had been released for it.
He asked the Fesco employees to work diligently, honestly and devotedly as corrupt elements would not be tolerated.
He said, “Millions of electricity units were saved during anti-theft campaign and now we are hopeful to overcome shortage of electricity very soon”.
Earlier, Fesco Chief Rashid Aslam briefed the state minister about workshop project and told that major repairing of 28,889 transformers and minor repairing of 10,838 transformers had been conducted at this workshop since its inception in 2003.
He said the Fesco had so far saved Rs 704 million by conducting major and minor repairing of the transformers at its own workshop.
He said Rs 23.6 million would be spent on the expansion project of the workshop which would be able to repair 5,000 transformers instead of 2,400 annually after completion.
