ISLAMABAD: The Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization of the National Assembly has directed the Federal Board of Revenue to resolve the matter pertaining to Phthalate Anhydride (PA), Di-Octyle Phthalate and Alkyd Resin in consultation with the Stakeholders.
The meeting was held in the Committee Parliament House Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh, MNA. The committee discussed the proposals and suggestions received from Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FPCCI), various Chambers of Commerce & Industries (CCI), Real Estate Stakeholders, Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association, Phthalate Anhydride (PA), Di-Octyle Phthalate and Alkyd Resin and Energy Renewable Association of Pakistan (REAP) for the Budget 2017-18 and the proposals of Committee Members for the upcoming Budget.
The committee recommended that plastic industries, printing & graphics industries and textile industries representatives or stakeholders would be called in its next meeting to discuss the revival of value-added textile industry structure. The committee directed the Ministry of Finance and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to make necessary preparation for the said meeting. The committee discussed the proposals received from Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industries and various Chambers of Commerce & Industries.
The committee also discussed the proposals received from Real Estate Stakeholders (PREIF) & (ABAD), Pakistan Cotton Ginners Associations (PCGA), Pakistan Renewable Energy Association of Pakistan and recommended that the same may be forwarded to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for necessary action. The meeting was attended by Saaed Ahmed Khan Manais, Daniyal Aziz, Muhammad Pervaiz Malik, Muhammad Tallal Chaudhary, Dr. Shizra Mansab Ali Khan Kharral, Sheikh Fayyaz-ud-Din, Dr. Nafisa Shah, Syed Mustafa Mehmood, Asad Umar, Muhammad Ali Rashid, Sajida Begum (Mover),MNAs, besides Chairman FBR Dr. Muhammad Irshad, senior officers from M/o Finance, State Bank of Pakistan, Auditor General of Pakistan, President PREIF, President Chambers of Commerce & Industries.
