KARACHI: Six ships C.V New Ark, C.V MSC Busan, C.V Maersk Pittsburgh, M.V Ruining, M.T Tomson Gas and M.T Au Leo carrying containers, 40,115 tonnes Coal, 1,642 tonnes LPG and 14,500 tonnes Palm oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, SSGC Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Wednesday. Meanwhile two more ships, oil tanker Torm Val Borg and Container Vessel MSC Bilbao also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.
Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 56% on Tuesday where a total of nine ships namely, New Ark, MSC Busan, Maersk Pittsburgh, MSC albany, Ruining, Yang Ze Lo, Tomson Gas, Au Leo and Pacific Panama were occupied PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Canola Seeds, LNG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively. A cargo volume of 119,337 tonnes, comprising 100,641 tonnes import cargo and 18,696 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,053 Containers TEUs) 2,940 imports TEUs and 715 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.
LPG carrier ships Tomson Gas is expected to sail on Wednesday. C.V MSC Bilbao carrying Containers is expected to take berth at Container Terminal on Wednesday, while two more ships C.V Priority and C.V Maipo are due to arrive at PQ on Thursday and M.T Al-ASalam is due to arrive on July 21.
