SINGAPORE: Singapore’s consumer price index fell to 0.5% in June, down from 1.4% in May, due to “sharply lower” housing maintenance costs.
The fall in inflation was associated with the timing effects of the disbursement of service and conservancy charge (S&CC) rebates, which dragged down the housing maintenance and repair cost component of the CPI, according to a joint statement published by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).
