SIALKOT: Taking another step towards serving the local ailing humanity, the trendy Sialkot exporters have announced to “adopt” as many as 20 Basic Health Units (BHUs) in Sialkot for providing the better, advanced and improved health and medical facilities to the local people at local level in rural areas of Sialkot district.
Acting President of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Waqas Akram Awan disclosed this during a press conference of Provincial Minister for Health Punjab Dr. Yasmeen Rashid held at SCCI here today. Acting SCCI President Waqas Akram Awan presided over this press conference. SCCI PRO Tajammal Hussain, leading Sialkot exporters and President PTI Central Punjab Umer Dar were also present on this occasion.
SCCI Acting President Waqas Akram Awan said “the Sialkot exporters have been earning the foreign exchange to the tune of US$ 2.5 Billion and Sialkot exporters consider it their responsibility and national obligation to serve the local ailing humanity”.
He said that the Sialkot exporters will soon adopt as many as 20 BHUs in Sialkot district under the supervision of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) for providing the improved and better health and medical care to the local people at local level in Sialkot here.
Addressing this press conference held at SCCI, Provincial Minister for Health Punjab Dr. Yasmeen Rashid warmly welcomed this health promotion initiative taken by the Sialkot exporters. She termed it a great initiative by the Sialkot exporters on self-help basis.
She said the provincial health department Punjab and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) will soon ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ensuring the early adoption of 20 BHUs to Sialkot exporters, saying that the Sialkot exporters will bear all the total expenditures of these BHUs after adopting them with high aims to serve the local ailing humanity.
She also highly hailed all the social welfare and human development-oriented projects already being run successfully by the Sialkot exporters on self help basis in Sialkot under the supervision of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) as well.
Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that government was making all out sincere efforts of strengthen the system of all the BHUs, RHUs, THQs and DHQ hospitals across Punjab besides removing all the hurdles from the way of easy access of the poor patients to all the health facilities.
She said that the government was committed to strengthen and streamline the health and medical care system in government health institutions for ensuring the provision of all the improved medical and health facilities to the local people at local level in Punjab.
She said that the government was also making hectic efforts to convert all the basic health units (BHUs) and rural health centers (RHCs) into the proper emergency centers which would work 24/7 across Punjab. Government was also ensuring the round-the-clock availability of the doctors there as well.
She said that the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health initiative was successfully moving ahead in eight selected districts of Punjab, as the government was spending Rs.1.4 Billion in first phase in selected 8 districts of Punjab. She said this PM’s health initiative would soon be expanded in all the 36 districts of Punjab and the government will spend Rs.5 Billion in the second phase as well.
Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that the distribution of the Insaf Health Cards will begin on February 22, 2019, as the Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch this distribution during a special inaugural ceremony to be held in Rajanpur (South Punjab).
She said that the Punjab government will distribute Insaf Health Cards to as many as 7.2 million families in all the 36 districts of Punjab till the end of year 2019.
She added that “Burial Charges” of Rs.10,000 each have also been added in these health cards for the poor and deserving people , enabling them to spend these burial charges on the demise of their every beloved one. She said that as many as 35 million will directly benefit through these health cards across Punjab.
Provincial Health Minister Punjab Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that the Punjab government was speedily working on a planning to also issue the Special Health Cards for the “salaried sector” of the society in Punjab , saying that these health cards will also benefit as many as 10 million families of salaried class in the Punjab as well.
Earlier, Provincial Minister for Health Punjab Dr. Yasmeen Rashid paid a surprised visit to Govt. Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot here today. She went to the patients and their dependents admitted at different wards and inquired the provision of medicines and health and medical facilities there.
She checked the attendance of the doctors and paramedics besides checking the record of the medicines being provided to the local patients there.
On this occasion, provincial minister asked the hospital management, doctors and paramedics to utilize their full energies and capabilities for providing better medical health facilities to the local people at local level here.
She said that doctors and paramedics were performing the sacred duties and earning good deeds by serving the ailing humanity. She said that their problems would be resolved amicably…#
