SILAKOT: Model Customs Collectorate Recovery Branch has issued final notices to seven defaulters involved in tax evasion of Rs1 billion.
Reportedly Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has strictly instructed all Customs Collectors in the country to make assure recovery from the defaulters and use all resources for this purpose. The recovery department of Model Customs House Sialkot has issued final notices to renowned importers and exporters who were defaulter since long of Rs1 billion. The recovery department has mentioned in final notices if the defaulters will not pay their default amount with fine the department take legal action as per law.
The Superintendent and Incharge recovery department Sardar Anwar told Customs Today if the defaulters will not deposit their tax till June 30,2016 then department start legal process to take action against defaulters while the department will seal the properties and business of defaulter for the purpose of recovery.
Assistant Collector Muhammad Hanif Choudhary told that the department has given many chances to defaulters but FBR has instructed to all customs collectors that don’t give chance to defaulters rather make assure recovery. Therefore, recovery branch will make assure recovery without any confusion and no pressure will be accepted from any side to spare defaulters rather legal action will be taken after June 30 without any delay against defaulters.
