SIALKOT: Gujranwala Customs Intelligence and Investigation earned revenue of Rs 3 million through auction of seized goods and impounded vehicles in the month of December 2016.
Deputy Director Ali Zeb Khan told Customs Today that the customs intelligence confiscated miscellaneous goods during various operations in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sambrial and Wazirabad. These goods were smuggled from Kashmir, China, Afghanistan and Iran.
Customs Adjudication, after formal proceeding offered auction of seized goods and vehicles.
Deputy Director said that seven parties participated in the auction. The department earned Rs2.5 million through impounded vehicles and Rs0.5 million through other seized goods.
He added that customs intelligence is utilizing all sources to achieve the assigned revenue target of financial year 2016-17. The auction held at customs warehouse.
The auction was supervised by Deputy Director Ali Zeb and in the presence of others officials including Assistant Director Itrat Hussain, Superintendent Tariq Rafique, Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Sawar and Superintendent Sajjad Rubbani.
