SIALKOT: The Customs Appraisement of Model Customs Collectorate has collected Rs798.8 million during the month of December,2016 against the set target of Rs525 million by achieving it up to 155 percent.
Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Appraisement collected revenue under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during the corresponding period.
As per the detail official said that Rs238.723 million collected as customs duty against the set target of Rs92 million and achieved it by 196 percent. Sialkot Customs surpassed the sale target by 159 percent as it collected Rs559.781 million against the set target of Rs329 million.
The appraisement collected Rs4.295 million in the wake of income tax during the above mentioned period against the set target of Rs16 million that has been achieved up to 41 percent .
Appraiser Abdul Hameed told Customs today that the progress of Appraisement department is much better to achieve the target whereas the appraisement will surpass it’s target in the fiscal year 2017-16. He said that the department is performing much better duty under the supervision of Collector Ahmed Reza Khan whereas it is also working on merit basis and showing good performance day by day.
He said that the exporters and importers of Sialkot dry port trust are also cooperative and they pay government dues without any delay and confusion because they understand that their dues will strengthen the national economy of the country.
