KARACHI: Chemicals carrier GSW Future carrying 4,669 tonnes Paraxylene was allotted berths at Engro Vopak Terminal on Sunday.
Meanwhile two more ships Dakang and Pacific Action carrying General Cargo also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was reported at the port at 41% on Sunday where a total of seven ships namely, GSL Tianjin, Era-S, Kong Que Song, Kirri Billi, GSW Future, White Purl and UACC Muharraq are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Rice, General Cargo, Canola Seeds, Chemicals, LPG and Palm.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 140,129 tonnes, comprising 87,271 tonnes import cargo and 52,858 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 6,6994 Containers (TEUs), (3,912 TEUs imports and 2,782 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Three ships GSW Future, Kirri Billi and UACC Muharraq sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ships GSL Tianjin is expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.
A total of five ships, MSC Sindy, MSC Mars, Norstar Invictus, Agios Nicolas and Everich-6 scheduled to load/offload Containers Crude Oil, Canola Seeds and Chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT,
FOTCO, FAP and EVTL respectively on Monday, while two more ships X-Press Makalu and Engiandina with Container and steel coil are due to arrive at PQ on same day and two Container ships CSAV Tyndall and Maersk Columbus, and a LONG carrier methane Nile Eagle carrying 138, 750 CM are due to arrive on Tuesday.
