KARACHI: Three ships Mataquito, Bahra and King Craft carrying containers, Diesel oil and LPG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Fotco Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.
While four more ships Torrente, Ensemle, Thetis and Medi Chiba with Containers, Coal, Palm oil and Soya Bean also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 41% on Thursday where a total of seven ships namely, Mataqutto, Yasa Aysen, Sakizaya Elegance, Trade Will, King Craft, Maritime Lira and Bahra are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, Coal, Sun Flower Seeds, Canola Seeds, LPG, Palm Oil and Diesel oil respectively. A cargo volume of 110,748 tonnes, comprising 108,848 tonnes import cargo and 1,900 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,000 Containers (TEUs), (900 TEUs imports and 100 TEUs Exports) was handled at the port.
Edible oil Maritime Lira sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships Containers vessel Mataquito and Oil Tanker Bahra are expected to sail on same day.
A total of five ships Prosper, Torrente, Thetis, Bunga Angsana and Maistros carrying Containers, Coal, Palm oil and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT PQEPCT and Fotco respectively on Friday, while three more Container ships APL Norway, Nicoline Maersk and MSC Virgo are due to arrive at PQ on Saturday and oil tanker New Century is due to arrive on Sunday.
