KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where two ships. M.V Trade Will and M.V Calypso carrying Sun Flower and Project Cargo were allotted berths at Multi-Purpose Terminal (MW-1 & MW 2) on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Meanwhile five more ships. MSC Maria Elena, MSC Valencia Yoga, Maistro and Majestic Sky with Containers, Coal, Diesel oil, Mogas and Soya bean also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Forty ships percent berth occupancy was observed at the Port on Sunday where a total of seven ships namely, Safmarine Nyassa, Ashada, Rui Ning-2, Sakizaya Elegance, Trade Will, Calypso, Malma and were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers. Crude oil, Coal, Sun Flower, Canola seeds, Project Cargo and Palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling remained moderate at the Port where a cargo volume of 51,193 tonnes, comprising 29,229 tonnes import cargo and 21,964 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,247 Containers TEUs, 91 TEUs imports and 1,156 TEUs exports was handled during last 24 hours.
Two ships oil tanker Ashado and Project Cargo carrier Calypso sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
Five Ships, MSC Maria Elena, MSC Valencia, yoga, Genuine and Leader carrying containers, Coal, Chemicals and Desel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Monday, 13th November. while container vessel X-Press Makalu is due to at Port Qasim on same day, and two more ships CSAV Iyndoll and Maersk Chicago are due to arrive on Tuesday, November 14.
