KARACHI: Three ships – MSC Pamela, MSC Rachele and Newark – carrying Containers were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal on Monday (November 6, 2017).
Meanwhile three more ships, MSC Busan, Ashada and Brizo scheduled to load/offload Containers, Condensate and Furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at fifty three percent on Monday where a total of nine ships namely, MSC Pamela, MSC Rachele, Newark Chang AN, Global Garnet, Kiran Marmara, QI-Xiang-22, Epic Sicily and Jag Leela are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Animal Feed, Steel coil, Coal, Soya bean seeds, LPG and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of at 134,784 tonnes, comprising 101,857 tonnes import cargo and 32,927 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,207 Containers (TEUs), 1,474 TEUs imports and 1,733 TEUs exports was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Two container ships MSC Pomela and MSC Rachele and oil tanker Jag Leela sailed to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships Newark and Global carnet are expected to sail on same day, and Gas carrier Epic Sicily is expected to sail at night hours.
Three ships MSC Busan, Maersk Detroit and Al-Salam-II carrying containers and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday,(November 7). While two more Chemicals carriers Houyoshi Park and YM Miranda are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and a bulk corgo carrier Sakizaya Elegonce carrying 63,467 tonnes canola seeds is due to arrive on Wednesday (Novemeber 8).
