KARACHI: M.V Carlous Magnus carrying 18,300 tonnes Palm oil took berth at Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-1) on Wednesday. Meanwhile three more ships, M.T TRS Mandal, M.T Brizo and M.T Bunga Aster with Chemicals, Furnace oil and Palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 53% on Wednesday where a total of nine ships namely UASC Al-Khor, Northern Movement, Ruining-2, MG Earth, Eco Galaxy, Krui Beke, Corlous Magnus, Grand Ace-5 and PVT Athina are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Canola Seeds, LPG, Edible oil and Furnace oil respectively.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 116,192 tonnes, comprising 79,332 tonnes import cargo and 36,860 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,993 Containers (TEUs), 53 TEUs imports and 1,940 TEUs exports was handled at the Port. Three ships M.T PVT Athina, M.T Grand Ace-5 and C.V UASC Al-Khor sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another ship M.T Krui Beke is expected to sail on same day in the after afternoon.
Five ships C.V Mataquito, M.T Chemroad Echo, M.T Glorious, M.V Luisia Colossus and M.T Saehan Estrella carrying Containers, Palm oil, Diesel oil, Coal and Chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, FOTCO, PQEPT and EVTL respectively on Thursday, while three more ships C.V Torrente, C.V Prosper and C.V Maersk Izmir are due to arrive at PQ on Friday.
