KARACHI: Four ships Darya Lakshmi, AL-Jabar-X, SC Tianjin and Challenge Phonix carrying Coal, Bitumen, Chemicals and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOCTO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
Meanwhile, six more ships MSC Sofia Celeste, MSC Bilbao, Bulk Pegasus, Chembulk Jakarta, NCC Nasma and Golar Snow with Containers Coal, Palm oil and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
A total of ten ships occupied berths at PQA to load/offload Containers, Stell product, Coal, Chemicals, Bitumen, LPG, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively.
Out of them, two container ships Safmarine Ngami and Maersk Salina sailed out to sea on Monday morning and two more ships, Edible oil carrier Clarice and Chemicals SC Tianjin are expected to sail on the same day in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 119,087 tonnes, comprising 77,047 tonnes imports cargo and 42,040 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized carried in 2,241 Containers (TEUs), (133 TEus imports and 2,110 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.
Five ships MSC Sofia Celeste, MSC Bilbao, Tai Health, CTG Argon and Golar Snow carrying containers, coal, palm oil and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, LCT and PGPCL respectively, on Monday. While, two more container vessels MSC Maria Elena and Maersk Columbus are expected to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
