KARACHI :Five ships, OOCL Washington, GH Chinook, Qingdao Tower, New Legenda Ruby and Zante carrying Containers, General cargo and Coal were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Mul-Purpose Terminal respectively during last 24 hours.
Meanwhile three more ships, CMA CGM Butterfly, Voyager and Glorious carrying Containers, Coal and Desel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same period.
A total of nine ships are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya bean seeds and Palm oil respectively. Out of nine, five ships namely, OOCL Washington, GH Chinook, Qingdao Lower, lkan Pulas and Olita are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.
Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port where a cargo volume of 190,052 tonnes, comprising 154,503 tonnes import cargo and 35,549 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,742 Containers (TEUs), (2,871 TEUs Imports and 1,871 TEUs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.
Four ships, CMA CGM Butterfly, Voyger, Ardmore Chinook and Pacific Martina carrying Containers, Coal, Palm oil and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, MW-2 and FOTCO respectively on Friday, while two more ships Container ships Ms Tiger and SafmarineNgami are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday.
