KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has suspended the impugned demand notice, seeking details of properties, banks accounts and all kinds of expenses to the leading constitutional lawyer Dr Muhammad Farogh Naseem issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
While hearing an application filed by Barrister Muhammad Farogh Naseem, a two-member bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhter and Justice Abdul Malik Gaddi also issued notices to the secretary Revenue Division/ FBR chairman, deputy attorney general and others directing them to file their respective comments on the next hearing.
During the hearing, petitioner’s counsel argued that issues raised in the petition are already before the court in other matters and interim relief have bee been granted.
Earlier, the FBR had issued a notice to Dr Muhammad Farogh Naseem advocate and asked him to submit the details of properties, banks accounts, all kinds of expenses during the period from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.
According to the notice, Barrister Farogh Naseem was asked to provide the breakup of management administrative and financial expenses along with supporting documentary evidence, details and evidences of all direct and indirect expenses. Details of all commercial, industrial and residential property owned with documentary evidence.
