ISLAMABAD: The services exports from the country increased by 15.32 per cent in July 2017 as compared to same month of the preceding year.
The exports during the month increased to $403.71 million from $350.07 million in July 2016, according to a data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) here on Tuesday.
The imports of services during the period under review also jumped to $893.13 million in July 2017 from $694.49 million in July 2016, thus showing an increase of 28.6 per cent.
The services trade deficit during the month however declined by 42.1 per cent as it surged to $489.42 million in July 2017 from $344.42 million in same month of the previous year.
Similarly, on month-on-month basis, the exports of services declined by 8.52 per cent as the exports during June 2017 stood at $441.3 million.
The imports also witnessed a declining trend as it went down by 2.17 per cent in July 2017 as compared to the June 2017’s imports worth of $912.96 million.
The trade deficit during the month witnessed a slight expansion of 3.77 per cent as the deficit during June 2017 was recorded at $471.66 million.
