ISLAMABAD: Central secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsmen Association (OICOA) has written letters to several Muslim countries which have not established the office of tax ombudsman yet, said Secretary OICOA, Abdul Khaliq.

The practice of holding tax ombudsman office was rare among Muslim countries despite the fact that its conception was made by a Muslim ruler (Khalifa).
He said the purpose of writing letters to Muslim countries, other than those having offices of tax ombudsman, was to pursuing them for establishment of tax ombudsman offices as the rest of the world had.
Expressing the hope to enhance the number of members from Muslim world, Abdul Khaliq said that Pakistan officials were putting expeditious efforts for promoting tax culture and exporting it to Muslim fraternity.
