SIALKOT: The newly elected President of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Khawaja Masud Akhtar has urged the Sialkot exporters to focus on the utilization of the advanced manufacturing technologies, besides, adopting the modern methods of international marketing for exploring and capturing the new international trade markets.
He stated this while addressing an important meeting of the Sialkot exporters held here. SCCI’s SVP Waqas Akram Awan and Vice President Aamir Hameed Bhatti were also present on this occasion.
SCCI President Khawaja Masud Akhtar added that the usage of advanced technologies has become vital in Sialkot’s export industries due to the globally changing methods of manufacturing, production, export and international marketing.
He said that the Sialkot exporters also must focus on the promotion of the advanced research and development (R & D) as well for developing their global approach to the world trade markets.
He said that there was no doubt to say that the Sialkot exporters have enough potential to explore and capture the international trade and export markets by exporting the world class traditional and non-traditional diversified export products.
He said that the advanced manufacturing technologies could help a lot in easy access of Sialkot-Pakistan made export products to the international markets.
SCCI President revealed that advanced manufacturing technologies could also help to a direly needed boost to Sialkot’s centuries old sports goods and surgical instruments manufacturing industries as well.
He said that the future and survival of Sialkot’s more than a century old sports goods and surgical industry was now in adoption of the world standard advanced manufacturing technologies, as the world has become very much conscious about technologies and quality as well.
SCC President announced to establish the strong relations with Sialkot’s other main trade bodies besides seeking the effective and positive suggestions from them for boosting the Sialkot’s export industries.
SCCI President said that the time was high for the survival and revival of the Sialkot industries through giving them a direly needed boost besides flourishing Sialkot industries and putting them on modern lines by taking all the SMEs into confidence and in active consultations with them.
SCCI President Khawaja Masud Akhtar added that there was no doubt to say that the Sialkot export industries have been facing multiple challenges including the prolonged non-availability of the trade and export related incentives for the Sialkot exporters as well.
SCCI Senior Vice President Waqas Akram Awan , while addressing the Sialkot exporters, said that that the Sialkot exporters have been playing a pivotal role in strengthening national economy by earning the foreign exchange to the tune of US$ 2 Billion annually.
He urged the government to announce a special package of trade and export-related incentives for the Sialkot exporters from Export Development Fund (EDF) through Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
SVP Waqas Akram Awan said that the direly needed incentives would flourish the Sialkot’s export-oriented industries as well.
“Government should also encourage and patronize the Sialkot exporters at every level enabling them to struggle hard with full devotion, dedication, enthusiasm and complete peace of mind for enhancing the national exports as well”, the SVP narrated.
SCCI Vice President Aamir Hameed Bhatti narrated that the Sialkot exporters were the “roaming ambassadors” which had been playing their vital role in strengthening the national economy by earning the foreign exchange to the tune of US$ 2 billion annually…#
