ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has been moved to halt Panama Leaks case and refer it to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for thorough investigation.
Barrister Zafrullah Khan of the Watan Party, through an application, requested the apex court to stop the ongoing proceedings of the Panamagate case and, let the FBR thoroughly investigate the issue of offshore companies.
He stated in the application that the FBR could properly investigate the matter, since it was involved in collecting revenue from off shore companies. He also stated that the Supreme Court had no jurisdiction to deal with revenue cases. He requested the court to let the competent authority probe the matter.
