RIYADH: Saudi customs foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of refined liquors, said a report in the Sabq newspaper.
The on-duty officers searched a truck loaded with a shipment of cartons filled with plastic glasses and seized 23,964 bottles of luxurious liquors.
The bottles were concealed among the cartons in an attempt to outsmart the officers at the customs entry point in Al-Batha’a.
Al-Batha’a Customs director-general Abdulrahman Al-Mehanna said legal measures had been taken, commending the officers for their dedication and vigilance.
