SAUDI ARABIA: The Saudi Port Authority accomplished a number of several different projects worth about SR1 billion which also included the achievements of expansion of power supply units, new sidewalks and upgrade of security networks.
The Yanbu Port project, which cost more than SR400 million ($106 million), had been designed to increase the port’s capacity and capability to receive ships carrying larger volumes, reported the Arab News, citing a top official.
Ports Authority Chairman Abdul Aziz Al Tuwaijri was speaking at the opening of a new terminal building at the Yanbu port.
Work will soon start on a new project at Ras Al Khair Port, which specializes in the mining industry, as well as a new station at the Dammam port, the report said.
Additional development projects will be carried out at the Duba Port and Laith, it added.
