LONDON: Samsung and Motorola remain locked in battle when it comes to mid-range phones. This time, it’s the Motorola Moto G against the Samsung Galaxy A5.
Which phone gives you better value for your money when it comes to specs and features? While both Samsung and Motorola have produced premium mid-range phones, it is best to find out which one is better than the other.
First up is the battery life. The Samsung Galaxy A5 is powered by a 2300 mAh battery, which is significantly more powerful than Motorola Moto G’s 2070 mAh battery. Both batteries are non-removable.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 also wins when it comes to camera features. It has a 13 MP shooter with LED flash, autofocus, touch focus, geo tagging, face detection and panorama, as well as a 5 MP front camera. The Moto G features an 8MP shooter with a 2MP front facing camera.
The Galaxy A5 is powered by a Snapdragon 410 CPU and Adreno 306 GPU with 2 GB of RAM. However, considering its $420 price tag, you can get better specs and features from other phones with this amount, or you may simply add a few more dollars to get other phone models with way better specs and features.
On the other hand, the Moto G 2014 has Snapdragon 400 CPU with Adreno 305 GPU and 1 GB RAM. This is significantly inferior, but considering its $200 price tag, it’s well worth your money.
In summary, comparing these two phones is like weighing apples and oranges—the specs and features are significantly different, and although they both fall into the mid-range smartphone market, their prices are very different as well. However, if you are on a budget and want better bang for your buck, we suggest you go for the Moto G.
