SEOUL: Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 has received Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update in various countries. The new firmware, which has the build number I9500XXUHOD3, can be downloaded through Samsung Kies and as an over-the-air (OTA) update. However, if you can’t get it from there, you can always flash XXUHOD3 Lollipop firmware on your handset manually.

Install I9500XXUHOD3 Android 5.0.1 Lollipop On Galaxy S4 GT-I9500
Step 1
Download Android 5.0.1 I9500XXUHOD3 for the Galaxy S4.
Step 2
Extract the Firmware zip file and you will get a .tar.md5 file along with some other files.
Step 3
Download Odin and extract its zip file as well. There will be an Odin3 v3.10.6.exe and some other files.
Step 4
Power off your Android device. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.

Now, boot the Galaxy S4 in Download Mode by pressing and holding down the Home, Volume Down and Power buttons together. After you get a warning screen, press Volume Up button.

Run Odin3 v3.09.exe as an Administrator.

Now, connect your device to the computer via the USB cable. An “Added!!” message will appear in Odin’s message box.

Click on the AP/PDA button on Odin and select the extracted .tar.md5 firmware file. This will add the file into Odin.

In Odin window, make sure only “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” checkboxes are selected while the “Re-Partition” option is disabled.

Hit the START button in Odin to begin the flashing process.

Once the installation process is finished, the Galaxy S4 will restart and the Samsung logo will appear on the device’s home screen.

Unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
