ISLAMABAD: The rupee shed three paisas against the dollar on Friday. The demand and supply remained balanced. The rupee closed at Rs101.65/dollar in the interbank market against the last closing of Rs101.62/dollar and was trading at Rs101.80/dollar in the open market.
A dealer said there were inflows in terms of export receipts and remittances, which offset the demand, while there was no extraordinary transaction.
Analysts believe the outlook on the external account and the rupee exchange rate has improved given the recent sharp decline in the international oil prices and expected realisation of dollar inflows.
