LONDON: Could this image of a phone with a metal chassis be Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone Galaxy S6?
A report on tech site The Verge cited photos from French site NowhereElse.fr showing a “Samsung-esque design to an all-metal chassis.”
“There’s a centrally positioned cutout for the camera and a slot at the bottom, potentially to minimize the metal case’s interference with wireless signal,” The Verge said.
It said this could be consistent with the Galaxy Alpha and the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge, where Samsung used metal frames and a higher-end feel.
Also, it said the images suggest the unibody aluminum cases by Taiwanese phone maker HTC.
“An all-metal chassis would also helpfully differentiate the new S6 from Samsung’s early efforts at metal cases, which have so far only had metal frames,” it said.
