PESHAWAR: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Peshawar is still optimistic that it will be able to improve tax net under Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) as the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has extended the last date until April 30.
The RTO had launched a special campaign and special centers were established in main business centers of the city to create awareness and make the scheme successful but the number of people registered under the programme was far behind than the actual target.
The government has announced Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) which has been laid in parliament to get a broad-based political support ahead of its implementation to facilitate the traders and business community and promote a culture of tax compliance in the country.
The scheme had been announced in the presence of a large gathering including traders, businessmen and representatives of chambers and trade bodies assembled at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat where prime minister was the chief guest.
Now the last date for the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme is extended to April 30 which aimed to improve the tax net and registered more people under the program.
