FAISALABAD: The Regional Tax Office of the Federal Board of Revenue has collected Rs 19,433 million during the first eight months of the current fiscal year.
Sources informed Customs Today that the RTO collected Rs 1,3015 million in the wake of income tax, Rs 6,996 million under the head of sales tax while Rs 90 million were collected as federal excise duty during the period.
Sources said that the RTO is taking effective steps to recover taxes from defaulters. On the other hand, the recently announced tax amnesty scheme will increase the revenue collection.
