MULTAN: Commissioner Captain (R) Asadullah Khan said on Friday that a sum of Rs 141 million has been released to Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) to shift electricity installations from route of Metro Bus Project.
Presiding over a meeting here, commissioner said that removal of poles and conductors from Metro bus route i.e BCG Chowk to Vehari Chowk and from Hafiz Jamal road was necessary for safety of workers engaged in executing Metro Bus project, adding that the electric poles were also causing hurdles in carrying out ground work on different segments of the route.
Chief Engineer Metro Bus Project Sabir Khan Saddozai said that 275 piles have been completed and their concreting process was underway at a fast pace. To remove encroachment from the alternate routes devised for the smooth traffic operation during execution of the project, chief engineer said that TMA Musa Pak has provided a list of Anti-Encroachment Squad who will operate in two shifts to remove encroachment with the help of police and support from anti encroachment cell of Multan Development Authority and traffic wardens.
