PESHAWAR: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) has launched a comprehensive campaign for Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) and installed a number of banners on head office and regional centers to encourage non-filers to declare their income.
In this connection, a meeting with the members of Peshawar Tax Bar Association and traders associations, was held by Shah Khan, Commissioner Inland Revenue, Zone -I and focal person of the Regional Tax Office, Peshawar for the scheme.
The focal person gave a comprehensive and detailed presentation on VTCS to the participants, highlighting the salient features of the scheme and its benefits. He explained that the scheme offered a rare and golden opportunity to the traders to become part of the tax net and to do their business with ease and comfort without any fear of being audited for next four years.
It was followed by questions and answers/discussion session in which the participants took active part and various ambiguities about the scheme were explained. Members of the associations were informed that 6 centers have been established in the business markets to guide and facilitate the traders’ community. The department has also constituted teams that are visiting business centers on regular basis.
