SIALKOT: Sialkot Collector Customs Qurban Ali Khan has assured the Sialkot- based surgical instruments manufactures and exporters about the early clearance of their all the pending rebate claims.
Addressing an important meeting of the surgical instruments manufactures and exporters here, the Collector added that all the old rebate claims of Sialkot exporters would be cleared till June 2015, as the pendency of such claims was being reduced gradually by making payments of rebate claims to Sialkot exporters, as MCCS has sought Rs 3 billion from the federal government for this purpose.
The Collector said that the Sialkot exporters had been injecting fresh blood in to the national economy besides boosting the national exports by earning foreign exchange to the tune of US$ 1.8 billion annually.
Qurban Ali Khan pledged to remove all the hurdles from the smooth way of upgradation of surgical industry, besides vowing to resolve all the prolonged perturbing problems of surgical industry amicably.
During the meeting, the surgical instruments’ manufacturers and exporters demanded increase in persisting 4.86 percent ratio of rebate for the uplift of the more than a century old surgical industry of Sialkot, which had been earning foreign exchange to the tune of US$ 335 million.
