KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta has recovered a huge cache of smuggled electronic items during a crackdown.
Sources informed Customs Today that the director customs intelligence received information that a huge quantity of electronic items are being smuggled from Quetta to Karachi. Soon after receiving the information, the customs authorities deployed a special team to check the vehicles.
During the checking process, the customs team intercepted a bus and recovered 50 LEDs, 10 DVD stereo, 50 digital cameras, 10 android mobile phones and watches. Sources said that the market value of the seized goods is Rs 4 million.
After seizing the electronic items, the customs authorities registered a case of smuggling against the arrested accused and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceedings.
