QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs started crackdown against non duty paid goods. During a special operation customs team seized foreign origin gutkha, betel nuts, cigarettes, diesel, zinc ingots and NCP vehicles at certain check posts worth of Rs30 million on 18.7.2018.
Collector Ashraf Ali while talking with Customs Today said that ASO team that Mazda vehicle who was carrying goods also taken into custody at Kolpur, Killa Saifullah, Lakpass and Mani Kha, Custom Check Posts.
Telling the details collector said that Zincots of 14400 kilogram handed over to customs by Killah Saifullah levies authorities. The market value of the zinc ingots were around Rs8 million. Sources told that 13000 liters of foreign origin diesel along with oil tankers were also taken into custody by Customs Lakpass Check Post.
This crackdown against diesel and NCP vehicles was made after the direction of Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO).
He said that gutkha, betel nuts were recovered from Hino truck by Kolpur Customs Check Post while hge quantity of foreign cigarettes were recovered at Manikha Check Post.
Ashraf Ali Collector of Customs Quetta, directed Additional collector Zubair Shah and Deputy Collector Preventive Maqbool Baloch to take strict action against these elements. Superintendents Preventive Maqsood Durrani, Aslam Khan, Inspectors Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Shabir Khan, Saleem Shah, Yousaf Notezai, Aslam Solungi, Muhammad Asghar, Sallahuddin Khoso, Fida Hussain Jamali, Mir Kalam, Ishaq George , Qurban Hussain and Abdul Ghafoor and class forth staff are appreciated by collector.
