Quetta Customs recovers smuggled goods Rs3.5m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs recovered huge quantity of Indian origin gutka, blankets and cigarettes worth Rs3.5 million.

Sources told Customs Today, that Collector Ashraf Ali received credible information about smuggling of foreign origin goods. He immediately constituted a team under the supervision of Deputy Collector  Maqbool Baloch and Maqsood Durrani. The customs team comprising Inspector Shabbir Khan, Essa Khan, Mosam Khan and Ishaq George and Abdul Abdul Qadir. The team enhanced checking at Lak Pass Check Post.

During checking of vehicles the customs team intercepted a truck bearing registration no: TKG-682 at Bolan Area.  The team recovered Indian origins Gutkha, blankets and   cigarette worth Rs2 million while the said Hino truck also seized.

Sources told another operation was conducted after receiving information from Additional Collector Zubair Shah. The customs team recovered Indian JM gutkha and A.J Gold gutkha worth Rs1.5 million from different vehicles.
