QUETTA: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Quetta has seized a huge quantity of foreign origin goods including betel nuts, Polypropylene plastic powder (Dana), Iran origin mixed coated fabric, ladies cloths, curtain cloths, black tea, blankets, welding rods, different brand of imported cigarettes, Indian origion toothpasts/brush garments, blades, razors and Malaysian origin laila vegetable oil.
A tip-off was conveyed by Collector Ashraf Ali to Additional Collector Sami-ul-Haq and Additional Collector Zubair Shah who further directed Deputy Collector Maqbool Baloch and subsequently to Superintendent Maqsood Durrani. Durani strictly instructed the customs check-posts of Baleli Lakpass and Shella Bagh’s officers/officials to coordinate with the FC authorities in order to seize the smuggled goods coming from borders’ areas.
The Lakpass check-post impounded the netal nuts and plastic powder under the supervision of Ghulam Hussain Khoso (Inspector). Baleli check-post Muhammad Shabbir Khan (Inspector), Abdul Ghafoor and Qurban Hussain (Inspectors) recovered Malaysian origin laila vegetable oil and other smuggled goods. Another check-post near border area also recovered huge quantity of imported items with the assistance of FC.
The estimated value of the impounded goods is around Rs32million. Inspectors Iftikhar Ahmed, Ihjaz Khan, Aslam Khan and Shahkil Ahmed participated in the seizure made at Shella Bagh check-post.
